February updates
Well, the big day is rapidly approaching and we’ve been a bit neglectful of updating this site. There are a few important changes we need to point out, so without further ado – the updates:
– Corrigendum – the devil in the details
Lots of playing around with photos and pretty paper and ribbons and yet somehow, we managed to miss a typo on the wedding invite…
The address for the beach house is actually 30 North Point Avenue, Salt Village, NSW. Thirty, not twenty. Please don’t go to twenty. I’m sure they’re friendly enough, but they won’t have a clue what you’re doing there.
After the ceremony, Tom and I will disappear for a little while for some photos. There will be some light refreshments provided at the beach house (30 North Point Avenue), so sit back, relax, enjoy a cold beverage and finger food till the reception.
– Best laid plans – change of dinner venue!
When calling up to confirm approximate numbers and sort out a few details, Tom discovered that the restaurant we had booked for dinner was under new ownership and that there was a conflicting (and much larger) booking.
The reception dinner will now be held at Bamboo restaurant – 9 Dianella Drive Casuarina, within the Santai Resort (see map below). Dinner will still be 6pm for 6:30, but the new venue does require us to advise of any special dietary requirements as soon as possible, at the latest by 8th April.
– Making the most of it – post-wedding lunch
We’re very fortunate that so many of our nearest and dearest are making the trip up to the Kingscliff area. It really means so much to us both and we thought we should make the most of all being together in one place. So please let us know if you’re going to be in town on Sunday 6th May – we’d love to take you all to lunch.
There’s an adorable little restaurant on the way up to Mount Warning that we absolutely fell in love with when we visited the area last year. It’s called Mavis’ Kitchen and is about a 15 minute drive from Kingscliff (see the map below). They use local, seasonal produce, and grow a fair bit of it themselves. The story behind this award-winning little gem can be found here.
Peter and Charlie are preparing a delicious menu for us, which we will circulate shortly. We’ll ask you to choose your entrée, main and dessert and email your selections back to us.
– A humble plea
Travelling all the way to Salt Beach is no small effort and a truly great gift to us on our wedding day. Please do not feel obliged to bring a present. To borrow a tremendously corny line: your presence is present enough.
